Job Description:
MedStar Health, a leading non-profit healthcare organization, is
seeking a PRN Acute Care Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic
team in the DMV area. In this role, you will provide crucial
therapy services to patients in acute care settings, supporting
their recovery and enhancing their functional abilities. This
position requires a proactive approach to patient care, tailored
treatment plans, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a
multidisciplinary healthcare team. Evaluate patients' functional
status and occupational therapy needs to develop personalized
treatment plans. Implement therapeutic interventions to enhance
patients' functional abilities, focusing on activities of daily
living and mobility. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to
coordinate care and advocate for patient needs. Educate patients
and their families on therapeutic strategies and home exercises.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance
with healthcare regulations. Adjust therapy plans based on patient
responses and evolving healthcare needs. Strong knowledge of
occupational therapy principles and evidence-based practices.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with
patients, families, and healthcare teams. Ability to adapt therapy
techniques to fit the specific needs of diverse patient populations
in acute care environments. Proficiency in using therapeutic
equipment and technology relevant to occupational therapy. Medical
