qualifications will not be considered. Deliver specialized care as
an experienced Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) in a focused
Cardio-Pulmonary Unit specializing in patients with complex
cardiovascular and pulmonary needs. This contract opportunity
involves working 36 or 48-hour guaranteed hours with a schedule of
12-hour day shifts every other weekend and major holiday coverage.
Key Responsibilities: Perform thorough patient assessments, develop
and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate treatment
outcomes for patients with heart block, chronic cardiac conditions,
and post-operative needs involving chest tubes. Administer and
titrate cardiac drips utilizing Alaris pumps, manage hemodynamic
monitoring, and provide respiratory support with advanced
modalities such as BiPAP. Collaborate closely with
interdisciplinary teams, coordinate patient care, and serve as an
advocate for patients and families during acute and critical care
phases. Adhere strictly to safe medication administration practices
and participate actively in quality improvement initiatives.
Provide patient teaching and emotional support tailored to diverse
cultural backgrounds, embracing a relationship-based, compassionate
approach to care. Float within the stepdown unit and to other areas
as needed to support patient care requirements. Maintain
professional standards consistent with nursing practice models and
hospital policies. Qualifications/Desired Experience: Current RN
license valid in the state or covered by compact licensure. BLS,
ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification required. Minimum of 1
year RN experience with at least 6 months in an acute care hospital
setting preferred. Critical care nursing skills, including managing
drips (excluding vasopressors), chest tubes, cardiac monitors, and
respiratory equipment. Proficient in clinical judgment,
multi-system patient management, and electronic health records
(EPIC preferred). Ability to successfully pass EKG competency exam
at orientation (study materials provided). No local travelers
beyond a 50-mile radius; solo applicants only; travel pairs not
