with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Alexandria,
Virginia, 22304! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN
Specialty: PCU Float Pool Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per
Shift: 12 hours (7 PM - 7 AM) Experience: 1-2 years in a relevant
setting License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Must-Have: - Proficient in neuro assessments and basic cardiac
drips. - Experience with cardizem, amiodarone, and heparin drips. -
Familiarity with electronic medical record systems. - Prior travel
nursing experience. - Ability to read and interpret ECG strips.
Description: Will be required to float to all PCU/Tele units within
the organization. Floating to other units will be within or below
the scope of practice. The PCU consists of 52 beds with a focus on
neuro patients. The medical surgical unit has 52 beds. Nurse to
patient ratios may vary: 1:4, which may increase to 5 in PCU, and
1:5, which may increase to 1:6 in Medical and Surgical units
(rarely). Required to administer and titrate drips. Duties include
caring for patients with a range of diagnoses, such as stroke,
chest pain, arrhythmias, abdominal pain, post-surgical conditions,
altered mental status, dehydration, acute kidney injury, congestive
heart failure, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, fever, and respiratory
failure. Patient care techs are available with ratios of 1:8-11
depending on the unit. Equipment familiarity includes CPAP and high
flow oxygen; staff must be prepared to respond to changes in oxygen
needs and patient conditions. The role requires flexibility to work
in various units as needed. There is a weekend requirement of a
minimum of 4 weekend shifts in a 6-week period. Holiday shifts may
be required based on organizational needs. Navy scrubs are mandated
