Washington DC, 20007! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession:

Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years minimum
experience required, must have completed 1 prior travel assignment
License: Must have DC RN licensure, pending licenses accepted
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Must provide proof of
pending license status at time of submission. - Must have DC
license in hand prior to start date. Description: This position is
for a registered nurse working in a progressive care unit. The
nurse will assume care of admitted patients with varying diagnoses.
Patients will be boarding in the emergency department while
awaiting bed placement on an inpatient unit. The position requires
floating to units of equivalent or lower level of acuity. The nurse
will work a night shift, three times a week. Ratios for patient
care will be 1 nurse to 4-5 patients. Weekend work will be required
every other weekend. Essential skills required for this position
include telemetry and interpretation and management of
dysrhythmias. Additional skills include IV therapy, feeding tube
care, and pre/post hemodialysis management. The position also
requires knowledge of insulin protocols and the management of renal
failure. Candidates should be comfortable with isolation
precautions and have experience in managing cardiac drips.
Interdisciplinary support in the unit includes physical therapy,
respiratory services, and social services. The patient population
includes adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. The unit
receives approximately 140 visits per day, with a total of 40 rooms
available. This role will involve navigating through diverse
patient cases and collaboration with various healthcare
professionals. Candidates must be adaptable and prepared for the
challenges of a fast-paced environment. All travelers must be
willing to accept assignments that may include patients with
