Shift: 7 AM - 7 PM Experience: 2 years of ICU and PCU/Tele
experience required; prior travel experience required. License: RN
Licensure Certifications: BLS (must be AHA certified), ACLS, NIHSS
Must-Have: Experience with stroke patients (using NIHSS). Ability
to read and interpret cardiac rhythms. Experience with vents and
titratable drips. Charge and precepting experience strongly
preferred. Description: We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse
for the Intensive Care Unit. Candidates must have 2 years of
experience in both ICU and PCU/Tele settings. Prior travel nursing
experience is required. The nurse will be expected to work both ICU
and PCU/Tele settings approximately 50/50. Common diagnoses include
CHF, stroke, sepsis, cardiac dysrhythmias, pneumonia, diabetes, and
respiratory issues. The nurse-patient ratio is 1:4 during the day
and 1:4 at night. There will be a free-floating resource nurse
available per shift. The ICU has 12 beds with a nurse-patient ratio
of 2 patients per RN. The RN will be required to respond to
inpatient MSETS and Rapid Response calls. Floating requirements
include traveling staff floating first, with a maximum assignment
of 4 patients. Weekend expectations include working every other
weekend. On-call expectations and holiday requirements are
negotiable. Epic access is required for this position. Common
titratable drips include vasopressors, antihypertensives,
amiodarone, and insulin. The RN will have support from a
Respiratory Therapist for ventilator management.
