CLOSING DATE: OPEN UNTIL FILLEDINTRODUCTION:The CMO provides
medical and administrative directions to the entire medical and
specialty program of the David C. Wynecoop Health Center. The CMO
is responsible for developing effective and consistent protocols,
procedures and policies pertaining to the medical functions of the
clinic. The CMO is responsible for maintaining the highest
standards of care at the David C. Wynecoop Health CenterThe CMO
assists in the coordination and monitoring of all organizational
wide performance improvement activities and shall serve as a member
of the Quality Improvement Committee (QI). The CMO shall serve as
Lab Director and supervise laboratory testing to comply with CLIA
regulations. The CMO may be asked to attend Health Board meetings
as necessary to provide reports. The CMO shall be responsible for
providing and supervising primary and specialty health care to
clinic patients.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Shall provide direction of medical services, which includes
development of protocols, standard procedures, and management of
all patient care related activities.
- Shall participate in the annual review of the Medical Policies
and Procedures Manual and finalize approval.
- Shall participate in and monitor all organizational wide
performance improvement activities and shall report to the DCWMHC
Health Board on findings, outcomes, and progress as requested.
- Shall serve as a member of the Quality Improvement Committee
and shall work cooperatively with the QI Department.
- Shall cooperatively assist the Health Center staff to improve
the Health Program's GPRA, HEDIS, Immunization and other required
quality measure and performance indicators.
- Shall serve as Chair of the Credentialing and Privileging
Committee (C & P) and make recommendations to the CEO and Health
Board.
- Ensures peer review is done and issues identified are
addressed.
- Sets and maintains productivity goals and addresses issues with
productivity among providers.
- Shall serve as a liaison with the local medical community and
shall review all provider contracts to provide professional medical
advice to the CEO.
- Shall constructively conduct, oversee laboratory competency
evaluations on all staff performing laboratory testing in
accordance with CLIA certification. shall comply with CLIA
regulations of the Director.
- Shall report as required by Federal, State, County, local and
Tribal regulations, laws, and directives.
- Shall provide "direct" care services to patients demonstrating
age specific competencies.
- Shall provide direction and oversight to Health Center drug and
alcohol rehabilitation program if requested.
- Routine duties may include providing medical services, and
other health care related services in homes, schools, clinics,
hospitals, job sites, and other community locations within the
Spokane Tribe's Service Area.
- Shall be readily available for local and out-of-the-rea-travel
as required for job-related training. Shall consistently attend all
required meetings and functions as requested.
- Ability to supervise others and delegate effectively.
- Accepts other duties or responsibilities as assigned.MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a graduate of an Accredited School of Medicine and have
completed training internship and residency as required for
eligibility for Washington State Licensure.
- Must be licensed by the State of Washington Medical Board. If
not licensed in WA must complete requirements within 6 months.
- Board certified in Family Practice and/or Internal Medicine or
Board eligibility and completion within 1 year of hire.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience supervising physicians and
other provider staff preferred.
- Must possess current DEA registration for prescribing
narcotics.
- Must obtain and report CME as required for license renewal.
Must attend IHS provider conferences if requested by the Executive
CMO.
- Must meet credential standards and be granted privileges from
the DCWMHC.
- Must possess a valid driver's license, good driving record, and
be insured by the Tribe's insurance carrier.
- Must strictly adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA policies.Must
provide documentation of immunity to measles, and rubella, or
become vaccinated with the recommended vaccines and hepatitis B
vaccine Must test for Tuberculosis (TB) at time of hire and per the
National Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines as required.
Must have an annual health exam and a flu immunization and
Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) vaccination or exemption as
required.Must successfully pass a Pre-employment drug screen test
and submit to a criminal background checkTribal Preference Policy:
