JobThe Director of Education will supervise the Education
Department, providing guidance and engagement in the assessment of
staff learning needs and in the development, planning, and
implementation of Clinical and Non-Clinical Education
initiatives.The Director of Education in will oversee training for
the entire facility, essentially acting as a training supervisor
for WMHC initiatives and programs for the facility. The Director of
Education will provide formal nursing instruction and in-service
training to licensed and non-licensed facility staff and will also
supervise Nurse Instructors and Clinical Education staff. In
addition, this position will be responsible for the design,
implementation, and evaluation of the facility educational training
programs, including but not limited to clinical education programs
as well as supporting the mission, vision, and strategic
initiatives of the organization.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation:---
--- A Master's degree in Nursing or a health related field from an
accredited college or university. Experience:--- Three years of
experience as a Registered Nurse to include two years as an
instructor.Note:---Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces
military service experience as a commissioned officer in Nursing
classifications or Nursing specialty codes in the Nursing
Instruction field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required
experience and education.DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSThe
desired candidate should possess the following: Strong medical
nursing skills Strong written, oral communications and presentation
skills Experience as a clinical educator, including staff
development and empowerment and leadership development Familiarity
with long term care/nursing home education regulations/standards
Experience supervising and directing clinical educators/instructors
Experience with Joint Commission and OHCQ SurveysLICENSES,
REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS1.Candidates for positions in this
classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse
from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue,
Baltimore, Maryland 21215 or possess a current multi-state license
in party states that candidates have declared as primary states of
residence. 2.Employees in this classification may be assigned
duties which require the operation of an automobile. Employees
assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle
operator's license valid in the State of Maryland. 3.Employees in
this classification may be required to successfully complete and
maintain a current certification of cardiopulmonary resuscitation
