Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher
of the Visually Impaired certification and 1 years Teacher of the
Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet
these qualifications will not be considered. This opportunity is
for a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired to serve students
across multiple school districts in the Houston metropolitan area.
The role involves providing specialized instruction and support to
visually impaired students ranging from kindergarten through 12th
grade. This contract position offers engaging, itinerant work with
a flexible approach to full-time or part-time hours. Key
Responsibilities: Deliver tailored instructional services and
resources to visually impaired students across various K-12
campuses. Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and other
professionals to develop individualized education plans (IEPs). Use
specialized techniques and assistive technologies to enhance
student learning and independence. Conduct assessments and maintain
thorough documentation of student progress. Provide support and
training for staff and families regarding vision-related
accommodations and tools. Qualifications: Valid Teacher of the
Visually Impaired (TVI) certification for the state of Texas is
required. Experience working with visually impaired students in a
K-12 educational setting. Strong knowledge of specialized
instruction methods and assistive technology for vision loss.
Ability to manage an itinerant caseload servicing multiple
districts. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Location & Schedule: Onsite work required within the Houston area,
primarily serving schools in the Northwest and City Center regions.
Full-time schedule preferred (37.5 hours per week, Monday through
