Grants Accountant I am with an accounting search firm and I am
working with a well-known organization in DC looking to fill a
Grants Accountant role. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a

for the Grant Accountant: Maintain reporting schedules for grants,
track receivables, and fund balances to support financial planning.
Analyze budget versus actuals, investigate variances, provide
justifications, and communicate with senior leadership and award
managers. Manage billing schedules, analyze budget patterns,
maintain cash flow schedules, and assist in expenditure
forecasting. Prepare audit-related materials and respond to data
requests. Align and reconcile grant revenue data between ERP and
CRM systems. Handle month-end and quarter-end revenue close
processes, including journal entries, bank account reconciliations,
and general ledger reviews for restricted funding. Maintain
reporting schedules for revenue types, accounts receivable, and
reconciliations. Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close
processes, including bank and balance sheet account
reconciliations. Assist finance team with financial reporting
packages. Research unidentified cash payments, provide weekly
updates to management, and maintain detailed invoicing and aged
receivables records for cash forecasting. Manage billing operations
and collections to ensure accurate accounting and reporting across
programs. Lead system enhancements to improve financial operations
scalability and efficiency. Mentor team members to foster
continuous professional growth. Participate in special projects
such as acquisition integration and accounting system
implementations. Set up grant files and financial records, support
statutory account creation for grant reporting, reconcile funding
and extension modifications, and prepare budget adjustments as
needed. Prepare memos for grants and program officers regarding
final reports and deliverables approval. Assist in training and
providing technical assistance to award managers and grant
administrative staff. Qualifications for the Grant Accountant:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience 2 years of
relevant accounting experience Expertise in cash flow forecasting
and analysis. Demonstration of advanced Excel skills (pivot tables,
